about

No tunes, no rhythms, no percussion, no loops; the structure comes from the trackers, operating in and of themselves. Out of the series, this one is closest in behavior to the Network Music which inspired this project.

Dedicated to the memory of Jim Horton, whose evangelizing of the KIM-1 microcomputer as a real time instrument kickstarted an entire scene (which included David Behrman, Paul DeMarinis, John Bischoff, Tim Perkis, Rich Gold and George E. Lewis) — music performed with and within networks. The history of 'laptop music' began before the word was coined; somehow, those Dynabooks never quite showed up.
